Arizona Family Court Reform: Finchem’s Revolution to Protect the Next Generation
Arizona State Senator Mark Finchem has emerged as a leading voice for children and families in what he calls a “family court crisis” plaguing Arizona and the nation.
In an explosive interview with Richard Luthmann and Michael Volpe on The Unknown Podcast, Finchem described the state’s family court system as a “sadistic racket” that destroys families and puts kids in danger.

Finchem chairs the Joint Legislative Ad Hoc Committee on Family Court Orders, a bipartisan panel that has already heard gut-wrenching testimony from over 400 parents and grandparents.
These hearings revealed how court-appointed “therapeutic interventionists” — many unlicensed and unregulated — force parents into costly programs, while judges turn a blind eye to evidence of abuse.
“We’ve had kids forced to live with rapists,” Finchem said bluntly. “These judges aren’t acting as neutral arbiters. They’re ignoring evidence and empowering predators.”
Parents told stories of financial ruin — one mother drained her savings and went bankrupt twice, forced to pay $250 an hour for supervised visitation. Another spent $300,000 on forced therapy and was limited to brief visits with her child.
“It’s not about the best interests of the child anymore,” Finchem said. “It’s about the best interests of the court-appointed vendors and the attorneys who make their living off billable hours.”
Finchem directly blamed Arizona’s governor, “social worker” Katie Hobbs, for vetoing HB 2256 — a bill he sponsored with Representative Rachel Keshel to block courts from forcing parents to pay for reunification therapy without their consent.
“Hobbs is protecting the money flow to her trial lawyer cronies,” Finchem charged. “I protected kids as a cop for 21 years. I know what real child protection looks like — and this ain’t it.”
Arizona Family Court Reform: “Legalized Extortion”
Finchem said a perverse financial incentive drives Arizona’s family court system.
“We’ve got psychologists making hundreds of dollars an hour, and judges just hand them authority that should belong to the court,” he said. “Meanwhile, the judges wash their hands of it, ignoring their duty to protect kids and uphold the law.”
He described the system as a “rigged game” that uses the language of “therapy” to justify what he called “state-sanctioned reprogramming” of children.
Beyond the financial abuse, Finchem said the system poses a grave safety risk.
“If a parent who has committed sexual assault is allowed 50-50 parenting time, that’s not in the best interests of the child — that’s putting the child in harm’s way,” he said.
Finchem also highlighted how judges are exempt from mandatory reporting laws that apply to other professionals when child abuse is revealed in court.
“They’re giving pedophiles cover,” he said. “If that’s not sadistic, I don’t know what is.”
Finchem’s family court fight isn’t just about the courtroom; he sees it as a mission to restore the American promise.
“We need to protect kids and families first,” Finchem said. “We need to restore constitutional order — no more judges playing social worker, no more forced therapy rackets. The American family is the foundation of our country, and I’ll fight to protect it.”
Not Just Arizona Family Court Reform: Defending the Border and Economic Might
The last ten minutes of Finchem’s interview were a vision of an Arizona that could stand shoulder-to-shoulder with President Trump’s America First policies.
Finchem praised former ICE Director Tom Homan’s hardline stance with Governor Hobbs.

“He told her: ‘You get in my way, I’ll arrest your ass.’ That’s real leadership,” Finchem said. “This is a fight for Arizona’s future and for America’s future.”
He blasted the socialists and Marxists running Arizona’s cities and said illegal border crossings and welfare abuse are robbing Americans of their future.
“The left is guilty of a travesty,” he said. “These are international visitors who need to go home. The free ride is over.”
Finchem’s border and economic vision fit squarely with President Trump’s America First ethos.
“We’re seeing the end of the globalists’ game. Trump’s tariffs forced BMW and Range Rover to the table overnight,” he said. “It’s time to take care of American workers, not foreign interests.”
Jobs, Energy, and Crypto: Arizona’s Role in a New Economic Boom
Finchem sees Arizona as ground zero for the next economic boom.
“Arizona is already seeing a shift thanks to the America First agenda,” he said. “TSMC is bringing $100 billion in chip manufacturing here. That’s 8,000 good-paying jobs for Arizona families.”
He also called for lower drug prices, praising Trump’s push to make America the most favored nation for prescription drugs.
“We’re getting gouged,” Finchem said. “In Arizona, you can go across the border and pay 10% for what you pay here.”
Finchem’s conservative economic vision doesn’t stop at traditional industry. A self-proclaimed “crypto senator,” he’s pushing to make Arizona the first state to fully embrace digital assets.

“They call it magic money,” Finchem said. “I call it freedom money.”
His digital assets strategic reserve fund proposal is part of a broader push to harness new technologies for Arizona’s future.
“We’re going to out-innovate, out-build, and out-compete any socialist agenda,” he said.
Finchem and Trump: A Golden Partnership for Arizona’s Future
Senator Finchem’s fiery populist rhetoric and unshakeable conservative credentials make him a natural ally for President Trump’s 2026 agenda for America’s second economic renaissance.
Finchem’s focus on law and order, economic growth, parental rights, and sovereignty echoes Trump’s core messages: protect the homeland, support American workers, and crush the corrupt elites.

Hobbs’ veto of HB 2256 reveals a stark contrast.
Where Finchem sees children to protect, Hobbs sees profit for the “therapeutic intervention” industry.
Where Finchem sees parents who need relief, Hobbs sees a bureaucracy to feed.
As Finchem said, “I’m a law-and-order guy. She’s a social worker who bankrupts families and protects predators. If she wants to stand in the way of Arizona’s families, I’ll stand in the way of her.”
A New American Golden Age Starts in Arizona?
With the 2026 governor’s race looming, many in Arizona wonder if Finchem’s no-nonsense approach could perfectly complement President Trump’s America First leadership.
In Finchem’s words: “We’re not done. We’re just getting started. Arizona is ready.”
