Rabbi Bellinsky, Jewish Leaders Demand Apology as YouTuber Doubles Down on Hate Speech
By Richard Luthmann
YouTube personality Jeremy Hales (@WhatTheHales) has been repeatedly warned about his use of anti-Semitic language, yet he refuses to apologize. His latest scandal stems from his repeated derogatory references to Jewish attorney Bruce Matzkin, calling him “Deuce Foreskin” and making crude remarks about his nose.

Despite mounting criticism from the Jewish community, Hales and his enablers—Megan Fox (@MeganFoxWriter) and Matthew Lewis (@ThatUmbrellaGuy or TUG)—continue to deflect and dismiss the outrage.
Jeremy Hales Anti-Semitism Backlash: YouTube Star Faces Fire Over Anti-Semitic Rhetoric
On a recent episode of The Unknown Podcast, co-hosts Richard Luthmann and Michael Volpe sat down with Rabbi Jacob Bellinsky to discuss the implications of Hales’ hate speech. Rabbi Bellinsky, a respected Orthodox rabbi and follower of the Lubavitcher Rebbe’s teachings, minced no words when condemning Hales’ anti-Semitic rhetoric.
Rabbi Bellinsky: Hales Is Pushing Classic Anti-Semitic Tropes
During the podcast, Rabbi Bellinsky explained why the term “Deuce Foreskin” is particularly offensive to Jewish people.
“Foreskin is directly tied to circumcision, a sacred part of the Jewish Covenant with God,” Rabbi Bellinsky said. “Jews throughout history have been persecuted, tortured, and even killed for maintaining this covenant. When someone like Hales mocks a Jewish person using this imagery, it’s not just an insult—it’s part of a long-standing pattern of anti-Semitic dehumanization.”

Rabbi Bellinsky noted that Jewish parents have faced execution throughout history for circumcising their sons.
Jeremy Hales YouTube Scandal: Is ‘What the Hales’ Star an Anti-Semite?
“This isn’t just a joke,” he said. “It’s weaponized hate speech that plays into historical oppression.”
Hales and his supporters have attempted to claim that the slur is simply a personal insult aimed at Matzkin, not anti-Semitic. Volpe, who is Jewish, rejected this outright.
“Jeremy Hales has been told, repeatedly, by Jewish people that this is anti-Semitic,” Volpe said. “When someone tells you that your language is offensive and you refuse to stop, that makes you a bigot. Hales doesn’t care about the harm he’s causing—he just wants to double down.”
Jeremy Hales Hates Jews: Megan Fox and ThatUmbrellaGuy Defend Hate
Instead of acknowledging the anti-Semitism in their ranks, Hales’ YouTube allies have gone on the attack. Megan Fox, once a respected investigative journalist, and ThatUmbrellaGuy have worked to discredit Rabbi Bellinsky and others who have spoken out against Hales.
According to Rabbi Bellinsky, members of Hales’ online following have even targeted him personally.
“They’ve said I’m going to hell,” Rabbi Bellinsky revealed. “They’ve mocked me, tried to dig into my background, and spread nonsense online. This is what they do—if you call them out, they attack you.”
Volpe was particularly disappointed in Fox’s turn toward hate.
“Megan Fox wasn’t like this a few years ago,” he said. “She used to stand for something. Now she’s just another Hales groupie, parroting whatever he says.”
Luthmann noted that Fox and TUG have also pushed disturbing eugenicist rhetoric.
“These people joke about kids eating paint chips,” Luthmann said.
“They talk about how ‘stupid parents’ shouldn’t have children. This isn’t just a problem of anti-Semitism—this is a sickness,” Luthmann said.
Jeremy Hales Hates Jews: Luthmann Calls Him Out
Luthmann, who admitted to making offensive comments earlier in his life, said he was able to recognize his mistakes and learn from them, thanks in part to Rabbi Spritzer and the teachings of the Lubavitcher Rebbe.

“I’ve said dumb things before,” Luthmann said. “But I educated myself. I took responsibility. Hales and his crew? They refuse. He won’t even say, ‘I don’t hate Jews.’ That tells you everything you need to know.”
The Unknown Podcast co-hosts also blasted Hales’ lawyer, Randy Shochet, for his weak defense of Jews and Judaism. Shochet is a Jew.
“This is the classic ‘I have a Black friend, so I can’t be racist’ excuse,” Luthmann said. “Shochet being Jewish doesn’t give Hales a free pass to spew hate.”
Volpe: ‘This Is a Classic Gaslighting Playbook’
Volpe said that instead of addressing the issue, Hales and his team have tried to deflect by attacking their critics.
“They’re running the classic gaslighting playbook,” Volpe said. “Instead of owning their behavior, they point fingers and say, ‘But what about what someone else said years ago?’ It’s nonsense.”
Rabbi Bellinsky agreed, adding that Hales’ behavior is an example of how hate spreads through social media.
“Hales isn’t just a lone troll,” Bellinsky said. “He has a following, and when he normalizes this kind of rhetoric, it spreads. This is how bigotry gets mainstreamed.”
Jeremy Hales Hates Jews: Will He Ever Apologize?
Despite widespread condemnation, Hales refuses to take responsibility for his words. Volpe believes this is a clear sign that he has no intention of changing.
“When someone tells you you’re hurting them and you keep doing it, that’s hate,” Volpe said. “This isn’t a mistake. This is who Jeremy Hales is.”
Luthmann issued a direct challenge to Hales.
“If you’re not an anti-Semite, prove it,” Luthmann said. “Say the words: ‘I don’t hate Jews.’ But we all know he won’t.”
Rabbi Bellinsky, however, remains hopeful.
“Our response to hate must always be light, not more darkness,” he said. “I hope Hales realizes the damage he’s doing and chooses to change.”
Until then, Volpe and Luthmann say they will continue to call out Hales and his enablers.
“We won’t let this slide,” Luthmann said. “Hales, Fox, TUG—you’ve all been warned.”
Luthmann says that those concerned should follow the social media hashtag #JeremyHalesHatesJews.
“If and when Hales recognizes the evil of his ways and apologizes, I will be screaming it from the rooftops. Until then, it is my duty to expose the truth of his hate-filled messages for all to see,” Luthmann said.
