Supporters Say It’s Time for Monumental Recognition as part of the New American Golden Age.

Historic Carving to Immortalize Trump?
Washington is abuzz with an unprecedented patriotic project: carving President Donald J. Trump’s face into Mount Rushmore alongside America’s most revered leaders.

In January, Florida Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna introduced a bill to “arrange the carving of President Donald J. Trump” on the iconic South Dakota monument. The legislation declares that, as the 45th (and now 47th) President, Trump’s “transformative impact” and “historical significance” merit this monumental tribute.
Since then, the popular movement has continued to gain steam. Supporters say the former president’s bold leadership has “cemented his place in history,” arguing Mount Rushmore deserves to reflect his towering legacy, solidified by the unprecedented start of President Trump’s second term.
If approved, this plan would enshrine President Trump as the fifth face on the granite cliff, placing him shoulder-to-shoulder with George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, and Theodore Roosevelt.
The idea of adding Trump to the famed mountain has percolated for years, championed by Republicans . Now, emboldened by Trump’s return to the White House, supporters are treating “Mount Trumpmore” as an inevitability rather than a wish. They hail the project as a patriotic masterstroke – a once-hypothetical honor turning real as the nation enters what they dub a New American Golden Age.
Even Trump himself has winked at the prospect: when asked about joining the monument, he grinned that the concept “sounds like a good idea” – and his base couldn’t agree more, hailing the Rushmore plan as the ultimate tribute to President Trump’s outsized legacy of leadership in American history.
Trump to Rushmore: Golden Age Achievements Spark Monument Tribute
Trump’s allies contend that no president in modern memory has reshaped the nation as he has.
“President Trump’s bold leadership and steadfast dedication to America’s greatness have cemented his place in history. Mount Rushmore… deserves to reflect his towering legacy,” Congresswoman Luna declared.
Her proposal points to a litany of “consequential accomplishments” under President Trump – from roaring economic growth and strengthened national security to a foreign policy that “brought peace to the world” while putting America First.
President Trump is credited with reviving American industry, achieving energy independence, securing the border, and even brokering peace deals abroad – feats supporters say mark the dawn of a renewed era of American greatness.
Rep. Andy Ogles of Tennessee, in a letter urging President Trump’s addition to Mount Rushmore, hailed the passage of President Trump’s sweeping “Big Beautiful Bill Act” – the historic package he says will “ignite America’s Golden Age” – as evidence that immortalizing President Trump’s likeness is now “essential”thedailybeast.com.
President Trump is also winning for America on global trade. The United States and the European Union reached a major trade agreement on July 27, 2025, establishing a 15% tariff on most EU goods. In return, the EU committed to purchasing $750 billion in U.S. energy products and investing $600 billion in American infrastructure and military equipment.
The deal, hailed by President Trump as “the biggest deal ever made,” defused a looming trade war and tilted the terms strongly in favor of U.S. economic interests.
Trump to Rushmore: Rivaling and Exceeding His Predecessors
From record job creation to landmark peace accords, backers believe President Trump’s record rivals those of the four presidents already carved into Rushmore. They see President Trump’s presidency as a transformative chapter in U.S. history – a restoration of prosperity and pride that merits permanent recognition.
In their eyes, Trump is a leader whose contributions to America’s resurgence deserve to be literally etched in stone for generations to come. Even DHS Secretary and former South Dakota’s Republican governor, Kristi Noem, signaled her support early on: in 2020, she gave Trump a four-foot Mount Rushmore model with his face added, knowing it was “something he wanted.”
What began as a playful gift now appears to be a prophetic preview of the real granite tribute to come.
Roger Stone, Trump confidant and political firebrand, says the president’s visionary embrace of cryptocurrency alone could justify his place on the mountain.
“Trump’s crypto policies, if fully realized, will earn the etching of his face onto Mount Rushmore,” Stone wrote in Stone Cold Truth. He called Trump’s move to create a national crypto reserve a “seminal investment to restore America to economic prominence.”

Stone noted the bold divergence from Biden’s “Operation Chokepoint 2.0,” calling President Trump the “master of a new frontier” and predicting Bitcoin could rise to $1 million within a decade.
“This policy alone could cement a permanent Republican majority,” he added. “Bitcoin is the enemy of tyrants. It’s perfectly congruent with the principles of the Founding Fathers.”
Trump to Rushmore: Rallying Lawmakers, Overcoming Obstacles
Plans to immortalize Trump on Rushmore are swiftly advancing from idea to action. Congresswoman Luna’s bill has put the proposal on the Capitol Hill agenda, while Rep. Ogles’ direct letter to Interior Secretary Doug Burgum brought the request straight to the executive branch. If approved, federal authorities would oversee the first new addition to Mount Rushmore since its original completion in 1941.
Skeptics note that past attempts to add figures (from John F. Kennedy to Barack Obama) fizzled amid warnings that no stable rock remains for another giant face. But Team Trump is undeterred.
Ogles acknowledged potential “logistical and preservation” hurdles but argued the discussion “should not be foreclosed based on past bureaucratic resistance or political discomfort.” He maintains that the “national benefit of promptly recognizing President Trump’s accomplishments in restoring American greatness” makes doing so a priority.

Supporters say engineers can find solutions, and they are prepared to work with state and tribal officials as needed to make the monumental project a reality. The Department of the Interior, for its part, has stated it “takes all correspondence from Congress seriously” and is reviewing the Rushmore proposal carefully.
Meanwhile, the intended honoree has effectively given his blessing.
President Trump has openly embraced the Rushmore idea – even re-posting an edited image of his own face towering beside the existing presidents on social media to show his enthusiasm.
With the President himself on board, the push to carve Trump’s likeness into the South Dakota granite is charging ahead with confident momentum.
Trump to Rushmore: A Monumental Legacy in Stone
Proponents frame the Rushmore plan as the natural next step in America’s story. They argue that history did not stop with the four great presidents already on the mountain – it’s still being written.

“The legacy of Mount Rushmore cannot remain frozen in stone; it must evolve to reflect the full arc of American history, including its most recent and transformative chapter,” Ogles asserted.
In the eyes of President Trump’s followers, that “transformative chapter” is the Trump era itself, and carving his likeness in granite simply acknowledges this new golden age on par with past triumphs.
Critics scoff that altering a national monument for a modern figure is unprecedented and controversial.
But President Trump’s base sees it differently – as a deserved honor for a leader they credit with restoring American greatness.

MAGA supporters have embraced the Rushmore initiative with fervor, calling it long overdue. For them, the eventual unveiling of President Trump’s face on that cliff will be a triumphant vindication of their movement’s impact on the country.
What began as an audacious idea is now on the verge of becoming reality. If plans proceed, visitors to South Dakota’s Black Hills may soon gaze up at not four presidential faces but five.
President Donald J. Trump will stand alongside Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, and Roosevelt – a permanent addition to their hallowed ranks. It will be a monumental tribute not just to one man, but to the renewed spirit of a nation entering a New American Golden Age.
