Master Sculptors From 10 Countries Converge on Florida’s Sugar Sand Paradise
FORT MYERS BEACH, FL – The 34th Annual American Sand Sculpting Championship kicks off this week, November 21–24, promising a weekend of world-class artistry and family fun. Organized by the Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce, this highly anticipated event brings 8 Master Sculptors and 10 Advanced Amateurs from 10 countries. They will transform the pristine sands of Fort Myers Beach into stunning works of art.
The competition, a hallmark of Southwest Florida’s cultural calendar, will occur across two vibrant locations. The DiamondHead Beach Resort will host the main event, featuring awe-inspiring sand sculptures, live entertainment, and interactive demonstrations like “Quick Sand” carving tutorials. Vendors, food trucks, and craft beverages will add to the festive atmosphere.
Meanwhile, Old San Carlos Blvd will be buzzing with street vendors and live music at Bayside Veterans Park. From noon to 7 p.m. daily, visitors can enjoy the local flavor, shop unique wares, and soak in the lively beachside energy.
Jacki Liszak, President of the Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce, highlighted the importance of this year’s event as “A Celebration of Resilience and Creativity.”
“Fort Myers Beach is a special place—a 7-mile island lined with pristine sugar sand beaches, perfect for creating stunning sandcastles. The return of this beloved event is a testament to the strength and resilience of our community, which has risen above the challenges of Hurricane Ian, Hurricane Helene, and Hurricane Milton,” Liszak said.
The competition’s international lineup and diverse events are expected to attract thousands of attendees. For tickets, accommodations, and event details, visit fmbsandsculpting.com.
